The primary goal of the Thomaston-Upson County Humane Society, Inc. is to relieve suffering and to reduce the number of unwanted animals in Upson County. The Humane Society raises money to help local citizens who are not financially able to have their pets spayed or neutered. It also assists pet owners with special needs to obtain veterinary care for a sick cat or dog. Referrals can be made through a local veterinarian. A financial assistance form can also be downloaded from this site.

The Humane Society meets the first Tuesday of each month, excluding January and July, at 6:30 p.m. at the Civic Center in the Arts & Crafts room. Everyone is welcome to attend. Donations are tax deductible and can be sent to P.O. Box 1152.

Car Show, April 11

The T-Town Toyz Car Club is sponsoring a Car Show to benefit the Upson Humane Society on Saturday, April 11, 2009, between 10 am - 3 pm, at the Ponderosa Steak House, 218 North Center Street in Thomaston.
